“Know Love”: Week 3 – Wednesday

According to today’s passage, what is the testimony God has given us? Leave your answer in the comment box at the bottom of the page. OR, share your favorite part of the passage.

Today’s Scripture: 1 John 5:5-12 (S.O.A.P 1 John 5:11-12)

Who is it that overcomes the world except the one who believes that Jesus is the Son of God.

Testimony Concerning the Son of God 6 This is he who came by water and blood—Jesus Christ; not by the water only but by the water and the blood. And the Spirit is the one who testifies, because the Spirit is the truth. For there are three that testify: the Spirit and the water and the blood; and these three agree. If we receive the testimony of men, the testimony of God is greater, for this is the testimony of God that he has borne concerning his Son. 10 Whoever believes in the Son of God has the testimony in himself. Whoever does not believe God has made him a liar, because he has not believed in the testimony that God has borne concerning his Son. 11 And this is the testimony, that God gave us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. 12 Whoever has the Son has life; whoever does not have the Son of God does not have life.

Jesus asked his disciples “Who do you say that I am?” Peter answered, “You are the Christ (Messiah), the Son of the living God.” Jesus Christ is the only sure, solid foundation for our faith. We either live in the condition of spiritual life or spiritual death. There is no middle ground.
Thank you Father for the solid foundation we have in your Son.
He is the way, the truth and the life and in Him we have joy complete and life everlasting.

I love this verse. My observation: In order to have eternal life you have to believe in Jesus. If you don’t have Jesus you then don’t have eternal life. Application: I am thankful and blessed to have Christ in my life. To me its not enough to have him but to do everything possible to live Christ like. I pray to live the way he has planned for me and I pray for his wisdom to guide me.
