A Way To Know You

Father, You are good and in Your goodness You have provided Your Word as a way for us to know You.šŸ’œ Your Word allows me to personally know Who You are, to know my sinfulness and need for a Savior; It makes a way for me to not only know The Savior but to trust in Him and to have a relationship with You, the True and Living God. To be able to grow in the wisdom and understanding of your Word is a blessing that allows me to live and love like Jesusā¤ļø, to bring salt and light into this dark world, and to share You with others.

I do not deserve this blessing but have received it as a gift from YoušŸ’œ It is a gift born not of merit but of Your love and desire to have a relationship with me. You are good and I am greatly blessed!

Why we need to Recharge

For me this was another perfect starter for the days we are living through. Does anyone remember the song from the 70s called ā€œPass it onā€? ā€œIt only takes a spark to get a fire šŸ”„ going and soon all those around will warm up to its glowing – that’s how it is with Gods love – once you’ve experienced it … you want to pass it on…ā€ can you imagine what would happen if we lived these words of Paul?! How we would be affected and how we would affect the world (believers and non-believers) around us? šŸ™Œ praying for our batteries to be recharged and sparks to fly šŸ™šŸ˜

Which Message?

The Following Prayer Starter is shared from “Prayers to Start Your Day” by Criswell Freeman, Smith Freeman Publishing.

Good morning ā˜€ļø for the sake of peace I almost skipped this particular prayer starter – but seeing how it feeds so perfectly into our current ā€œKnow Loveā€ study I am trusting it is meant to be shared. I am praying for openness as you read and an understanding that this is not meant to bash ā€œthe mediaā€ – not to focus our attention in the media but rather to remind us where our true focus is to be. I believe that media can be, and is often, used for good. However, there is no denying the truth of the statement that it can distort the truth and draw our mind to focus on the world. In this ā€œ2020 cultureā€ may our prayer daily echo this mornings starter: ā€œLord, help us to focus not on the world’s [message], but on the message of Your Son.ā€

“Know Love”: Week 2-Monday

To encourage others and us grow in our faith and understanding please be sure to post/share your comments about today’s passage in the reply bar at the bottom of the page.

Challenge: Take extra time this week to observe and interpret 1 John 3:19-20. How does our conscience condemn us? What does Romans 8:1-4 say about this? How do these truths affect what you believe about grace?

Today’s Scripture: 1 John 2:28-3:10 (S.O.A.P 1 John 2:28-29)

228 And now, dear children, remain in fellowship with Christ so that when he returns, you will be full of courage and not shrink back from him in shame. 29 Since we know that Christ is righteous, we also know that all who do what is right are God’s children.

See how very much our Father loves us, for he calls us his children, and that is what we are! But the people who belong to this world don’t recognize that we are God’s children because they don’t know him. Dear friends, we are already God’s children, but he has not yet shown us what we will be like when Christ appears. But we do know that we will be like him, for we will see him as he really is. And all who have this eager expectation will keep themselves pure, just as he is pure.

Everyone who sins is breaking God’s law, for all sin is contrary to the law of God. And you know that Jesus came to take away our sins, and there is no sin in him. Anyone who continues to live in him will not sin. But anyone who keeps on sinning does not know him or understand who he is.

7Ā Dear children, don’t let anyone deceive you about this: When people do what is right, it shows that they are righteous, even as Christ is righteous.Ā 8Ā But when people keep on sinning, it shows that they belong to the devil, who has been sinning since the beginning. But the Son of God came to destroy the works of the devil.Ā 9Ā Those who have been born into God’s family do not make a practice of sinning, because God’s life[a]Ā is in them. So they can’t keep on sinning, because they are children of God.Ā 10Ā So now we can tell who are children of God and who are children of the devil. Anyone who does not live righteously and does not love other believersĀ does not belong to God.
