“Know Love”: Week 4 – Monday

To encourage others and help us grow in our faith and understanding please be sure to read and/or share your comments about today’s passage in the reply bar at the bottom of the page. Let’s spur one another on to love and good deeds.

Today’s Scripture: 2 John 1:5-8 (S.O.A.P. 2 John 1:6)

Warning Against False TeachersBut now I ask you, lady (not as if I were writing a new commandment to you, but the one we have had from the beginning), that we love one another. (Now this is love: that we walk according to His commandments.) This is the commandment, just as you have heard from the beginning; thus you should walk in it. For many deceivers have gone out into the world, people who do not confess Jesus as Christ coming in the flesh. This person is the deceiver and the antichrist! Watch out, so that you do not lose the things we have worked for, but receive a full reward.

NEW: Prayer Focus for this week – Spend time praying for your church.

Today’s Scripture: 2 John 1-4 (S.O.A.P. 4)

Introduction and Thanksgiving From the elder, to an elect lady and her children, whom I love in truth (and not I alone, but also all those who know the truth), because of the truth  that resides in us and will be with us forever. Grace, mercy, and peace will be with us from God the Father and from Jesus Christ the Son of the Father, in truth and love.

I rejoiced greatly because I have found some of your children living according to the truth just as the Father commanded us.

Weekend Reflection (2)

Be sure to check by here tomorrow for our weekly video discussion.

  1. What does it mean to “remain in Him”? What does this look like in your daily life?
  2. Why is it important for us to be generous to other believers? How can you be generous with the resources God has given you to bless and care for others in the body of Christ?
  3. How can you test the teachings of others to know whether or not they are from God? Why is this an important practice?
  4. How did God display His love to us? How does He continue to display His love to us?
  5. How are we agents of revealing God’s love to the world?

To encourage others please be sure to read and/or share your answers in the reply bar at the bottom of the page.

“Know Love”: Week 2 – Wednesday

To encourage others and help us grow in our faith and understanding please be sure to post/share your comments about today’s passage in the reply bar at the bottom of the page.

Don’t forget this week’s CHALLENGE: Take extra time this week to observe and interpret 1 John 3:19-20. How does our conscience condemn us? What does Romans 8:1-4 say about this? How do these truths affect what you believe about grace?

Today’s Scripture: 1 John 3:18-24 (S.O.A.P 1 John3:19-20)

18 Dear children, let’s not merely say that we love each other; let us show the truth by our actions19 Our actions will show that we belong to the truth, so we will be confident when we stand before God. 20 Even if we feel guilty, God is greater than our feelings, and He knows everything.

21 Dear friends, if we don’t feel guilty, we can come to God with bold confidence. 22 And we will receive from him whatever we ask because we obey Him and do the things that please Him.

23 And this is His commandment: We must believe in the name of His Son, Jesus Christ, and love one another, just as He commanded us. 24 Those who obey God’s commandments remain in fellowship with Him, and He with them. And we know He lives in us because the Spirit He gave us lives in us.
